IndigiData
Indigidata is an Indigenous data science education workshop founded by Dr. Krystal Tsosie and Dr. Matthew Anderson in 2021, where I have since served as a senior organizer and faculty member. We partner with Tribal communities across Turtle Island to address environmental concerns using genomic tools and data science. The scientists helping to solve these problems and steward the data are the Indigenous students and community members we are training through a week-long workshop of hands-on data science lessons, coupled with lectures and discussions on Indigenous science, data sovereignty, and ethics. Since its inception, we have trained over 200 data warriors and now offer workshops in Aotearoa.

Our work has been showcased in the popular press, from the New York Times to Northwest Treaty Tribes News.
